Privacy Policy

Summary

• We collect information needed to provide meal planning — account details, preferences, meal plans, shopping lists, and saved recipes.
• Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple. Mett never sees your payment card details.
• We do not use advertising trackers, Facebook SDK, or cross-app ad tracking (IDFA) for marketing purposes.
• You can access, correct, or delete your data, including permanent account deletion in the app.

Information we collect

Account and authentication

When you create a Mett account, we may collect:

• Email address
• Name or display name (if you provide it)
• Authentication identifiers from our identity provider (Supabase Auth)
• Account preferences and household settings

Sign-in is handled through secure authentication. We do not store your password in plain text.

App content you create

• Meal plans and scheduled meals
• Shopping lists and checked items
• Food bank / pantry items and leftovers
• Favourite recipes and dietary preferences
• Optional receipt images if you use receipt scanning (Premium)

Subscriptions

If you subscribe to Mett Premium, payment is handled entirely by Apple. We receive subscription status through RevenueCat (e.g. active, expired, trial) but do not receive your card number or Apple ID password.

Technical data

• Device type and app version for support and stability
• Basic server logs (e.g. timestamps, error reports)

Analytics

Mett does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

The public website may record lightweight, first-party interaction events (for example recipe searches or App Store link clicks) through an internal event helper. These events are not sold to advertisers and are not used for cross-site profiling.

The iOS app does not include Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, or similar ad-network tracking.

How we use information

• Provide and improve meal planning, recipes, and shopping lists
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Verify Premium subscription status
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

Service providers

We use trusted processors to operate Mett, including:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
• Apple — App Store payments and subscription billing
• RevenueCat — subscription status verification
• OpenAI — optional AI meal planning when you use Premium features

These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service.

Retention and deletion

We keep personal data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile and associated personal data from our systems, subject to limited legal or backup retention where required.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at hei@mett.app to exercise these rights.

If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Mett is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version.
